Problem: Our client, a leading manufacturer of bulk solids storage and handling facilities for the agricultural, mining and manufacturing sectors, were experiencing a welding labour shortage.
Our Solution: Finding quality welders can be tricky, particularly because our client is based quite remotely. Our solution was having them turn to automation, in order to fill the gap. This entailed rethinking the way they manufacture, to gain the efficiency offered only by automation.
Automated Solutions Australia (ASA) installed a rail mounted FANUC ARC Mate 100iD/8L combined with 2000Kg positioners and followers. This robot is an ARC welding game changer. The FANUC ARC Mate 100iD/8L is a 6-axis robot with a payload of 8kg, boasting a reach of 2032 mm. FANUC’s ARC Mate 100iD/8L was created specifically with arc welding in mind and forms part of the range developed from years of robotics and welding expertise. It is excellent for small-space installations. The welding cables for the welding dress out are routed through the robot so that interference with peripherals and work cell equipment is eliminated, resulting in improved system dependability and usability. The design of the two external rotators provide for efficient changing of the fixtures and a great automation result for our client.
